A WORD FROM CHAUN:
I would like to let you guys know how I managed to speak to my dad in such an intimate way about spiritual matters in his last days. Many of you probably don't know that we got into many arguments about Christianity to the point where I would end up in tears about things that I had said. My dad's heart was hardened to spiritual matters altogether. And so I am also thankful that my dad taught me a valuable lesson..."show it by the way you live". So I didn't speak to him about spiritual things for a couple of years until his final days. The reason I was able to speak with tenderness and boldness in his last days is because of a sermon (How to Kill Sin part 3) that I listened to by Pastor John Piper from Minneapolis, MN. The Bible says in Romans 10:17 that "faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." I was shown that the way to help my dad die was by having him HEAR some sweet promises of God so that he could BELIEVE them. AND HE DID. So I want to challenge believers (what I mean by believers is this: Romans 10:9 says, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved") to HEAR AND BELIEVE the words of Christ in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
